Echobean Privacy Policy

The Echobean app uses the host device microphone to record the user's response to practice questions.  The user's spoken responses are recorded and stored within the device, and replayed to the user of the device.  These digital recordings are not uploaded or otherwise transmitted from the user's device by our app, nor are they shared with any other app, unless the user chooses to do so.
Echobean can download practice question + answer lists from our website.  Echobean always asks the user to confirm before going online to download lists. Whenever the user downloads a practice list, a standard HTTP file download request is transmitted from Echobean to the web server.  This download request never contains any voice recordings or other personal information.
Whenever any android app is downloaded and installed from Google Play Store, Google gathers information from the device on which the app is installed.  Some of this information, such as the device operating system version, and the country where the device is located, are shown to the app developers by Google.

Except as described above, Echobean currently does not transmit any data from the user's device.  If we begin collecting data from users in the future (possibly through an enhanced new version of the app or an interactive web service), this privacy policy will be revised at that time and we will inform users. We will never collect data from a user's device without making it clear to the user that we are doing so, and how the data will be used.
